Verdinand - Harbinger - Open View Layout (1.1)

As you can tell, this is is a nice, clean layout for all classes and styles of people. It has an open interface so that you can clearly see everything around you.

Something to note, you will have to NOT use Main Quick Bar. This is essential for this to work. The reason is because Main Quick Bar has the added icons and adjustments on it that throw off the balance of this layout.

Your attacks will update as you go, and will post on your quick bars as you get them. If you want this to be easier, load up the quick bar 1, but Unbind all keys to the main bar. That way when you get a new attack while leveling, it will automatically go to one of your new bars that you have set up.

Also, you will want to HIDE your Main Quick Bar off to one side so it doesn't show up ever.

Now, you will have to rebind all keys for this. This is up to you, but you can see in my main picture, they are a 6 bar set up.

The mini map is the focal point of this layout. It is in center view so your eyes do not really leave the field if you are exploring or walking around dangerous territory on your way to a quest. This allows you a nice strong peripheral vision to spot any group of NPC's that are lurking about. If you are trying to avoid them to just go turn in your quest, then this will help you out greatly.

-----

About the layout. The first thing you need to realize is that you need a 1920 x 1080 Resolution or better for this layout to work as it is shown. That is the main thing.

Now, to describe what you see.

1. The "Quick Link" bar is not at the center top anymore. It is now supporting the weight of the Mini Map.

2. Under that is your Experience Bar, and your Legacy Experience Bar. They are no longer at the top, as for some layouts they are.

3. Player Information is on the left of the bar, not scaled. Scale = 1.

4. Target Information is on the right of the bar, not scaled. Scale = 1.

5. Quick Bar 4 is where attacks 1 - 6 are located just under the Player Information. Alpha is 49%, but you can put it to what you want.

6. The other quick bars are places in the order shown.

7. Quick Bar 6, however, is the one that is on the left of the screen above Companion Abilities. This bar is strictly for Non Active Items. This is for when you are not fighting, or are Role Playing on your RP server. basically Legacy attacks, Mounts, Pets, Fleet Pass (Subscriber), and Quick Travel. Along with Rally and Revive Companion. That is my set up, but you can put it how you want.

8. Companion Health Bar is snuggled neatly under Player Information. Now, it fits there nicely because the attacks are up and off to the left side of the screen. This ensures a clean placing of the Health Bar for your Companion.

9. Your Social information, (ex: Player Log In, Player Log Off) is directly opposite the Companion Health Bar. It will blend in with the background, so you can either move it to another location, or keep it there.

10. Guild Chat is on the left side to help break it from the everyday General, Party, Whisper, Ops, or any other chat not associated with your Guild (Provided you are in one)

11. General Chat is on the right, snugged off to one side so that your eyes are not drawn to it unless you absolutely need to see it. Both chats will fade if left alone, so all you focus on is the Health Bars, Quick bars, and Mini Map while you are running around doing Quests or Raids, or PvP, or Flashpoints.

12. Quests are on the top right of the screen, followed by the Trophy Quests. That can be extended as far down as you want, but I think that if that shows as little as possible, that's fine with me. I sometimes even hide them, and move the Trophy Icon right next to the Quest Arrow Icon because the Quests can easily be accessed via "M" on the Keyboard when viewing the Map.

13. Cartel Coin Icon and Phase Indicator are both on the top left of the screen. Since you typically don't use the Cartel Shop that often unless you are not moving about, it is up there if you need it. Phase Indicator is snugged up against it so you will see the Phase up there if you are in someone's Phase, or your own.

14. Companion Attack Bar is between the Guild Chat, and the Quick Bar 6. This goes back to the Companion Health Bar stated before, but it also shows you what they are doing. This also allows a quick click to change up attack styles for your Companion.

15. The Hidden Holo Call Indicator that you get here and there during Game Play or during or after a mission, is directly above the Mini Map. Very Obvious when it shows up. You can also place this wherever you wish.

16. Hidden Cast Bars. These are going to snuggle TIGHTLY under your lower Quick Bars, and directly next to your EXP bars. This is so that they are shown, but do not draw your eyes away from the fight. This includes Companion Summon, Mount / Pet Summon, Spell Cast, Quick Travel, Fleet Pass, or Construction.

17. Party Information is on the Left side, leaning against the Companion Attack Quick Bar. You can go in and adjust where this is as well for when it shows up. It is just easier if it is on the left rather than the right because you already have something over there to help blend it into the back of your vision when you are in a party with someone and you are fighting things. Also, it allows you the open feel this layout gives.

Basically, you can adjust the finer tweaks of this layout when you get it. I prefer Uniform Styles, so this is what I came up with. It was inspired by the Ice HUD Layout on World Of Warcraft that I loved using. It's layout is much like this, but with key differences all throughout.

NOTE: This layout WILL take some time to get used to. So please don't judge it when you first get to it. You really have to structure the key bindings to your own personal style and set up so that it works for you. It took me a few days to get used to it, and sometimes I even mess up with it. It is a clean layout, and will provide you the focus you need when you are Raiding, or when you are just Questing. It allows you to focus on the important things while quickly shifting your eyes down to see cool down times and see what you can use.

ALL Quick Bars are at 49% Alpha. Adjust them to what you want to. The Quick bars also vary with size, so you will have to adjust them as well to your personal specs.

This is my personal shell, and it has room to grow for the user who gets it. That's another good feature of this layout. It is very versatile, and can be molded and bent here and there to be suited for you.

I hope you enjoy it.

Change Log:
--------------------
Version 1.1
* Fixed an issue where the map info was too small
* Fixed the Buff/Debuff Size so the icons are big enough to see.

-- Known Issues
--*When in a party the tooltip is slightly hidden, when I find a size that makes it better looking I will update.

Description:
--------------------
This UI is based on several others with cast bars 1, 4, 5, 6 along the bottom, and bar 3 on the left side for your Heroic Moment abilities. I liked the idea of not having to see my character so I hid it behind the targets image.

This setup was made at 1440x900.

I would like to thank the other authors for their exceptional UI options, as well as to mention that I did cobble this together from what I felt was the best of those I have used.

If anyone has any problems please let me know so I can fix them.

Thanks,
Iczelion

*EDIT* The Operations Frame is on the right side, I realize the picture shows it on the left but I forgot to take an updated picture of it. Sorry for any confusion.

Minimalist UI - Open corners/edges (1.02)

The goal of this UI is to show all important information in a compact area while preserving view distance around the edges/corners of your screen.

Anything seen here can be rearranged, but you can see the logic in where I placed the abilities. Try to follow this template first then make your keybinds after the visual setup.

Gio-Cefalu general UI (1.9)

This is my standard "MMO" UI for the most part.

It's used on 1920x1080 resolution.

I try to keep the center and top clear of UI elements so you can see the action better.

Chat windows are at the bottom left and bottom right; chat windows at the top can block characters/faces during cut-scenes (I have the cut-scene dialogue in my chat boxes), so I have them moved to the bottom.

Hotbars are all moved to the bottom so if there are any that don't have hotkeys, they are all centralized (instead of having to click all the way on the left or right side of the screen). Also by having them in the center, you can easily see cooldowns.

Party and companion elements are a little closer to the middle for easier targeting. Health of Target is enabled as well.

Updated: Added 2 pics (UI layout and in-game)

Updated: Realized I left the companion cast bar under the left chat window. I moved this just over the companion toolbar and took 2 more screenshots to reflect this and to show the companion and companion toolbar in use.

Update 4-13-12: I adjusted my UI a little to make more sense for Naga users. Now the hotkeys match up better with the orientation of the Naga. It's 3 across by 4 down instead of 4 across by 3 down. I had to shift the Focus Target and Target of Target up just a little to accomodate this, and I also made the chat windows a little bit wider. I also adjusted the global scale back to 1 but shrank down some individual windows like the party windows. It's still a lot tighter and cleaner than the original UI, but now the hotbars are a little bigger than before (by .05) so it's easier to see (at least by my old eyes :) for global cooldowns or if you happen to be a clicker. Older versions should be archived.

Update: 4-16-12. I adjusted the UI scale of the mission tracker from 1.0 to 0.9 so it's taking up less space now. It's still easily legible, but less intrusive to the center of the screen, so it's a bit "tighter" now.

Update: 4-19-12. I moved the Ops frames up a little to avoid collision with chat frame. I also extended the height of the health bar in the Ops frame (for easier healing) and added Text to Ops, player, and target frames.

Update: 5-14-12. Minor update. I noticed the player window and target window were slightly off, so they were not symmetrical. I know this is very minor, but it was irritating me, so I adjusted it so that it should be very close to symmetrical now.

Update: 7-9-12. Minor update. I found the response wheel was too low, so it was blocked by the player and target portraits. I raised it up a little so it's completely visible again.

Update: 9-23-12. Minor update. I found when running FPs that the target window was too low, and the ToT window was interfering, so it made it difficult to see the difficulty of the mob (strong, elite, champion, etc). I adjusted the lower right chat window down slightly. I raised the Player and Target windows slightly, so now you can easily see the difficulty of the mob, and all of the shifts were minute.

Update: 9-23-12. Ok, I was just kidding about the last update. Now that I've moved the chat window lower on the right, I also lowered the companion bars to match it.

Update: 11-16-12. Update for release 1.5. Added 2 additional hotbars, one on each side. Moved the companion bar in to accommodate the right hotbar, and move the party and ops window on the left a little more in to accommodate the left hotbar. Left the Cartel icon in the default location. Realized my Combat Awareness indicator was slightly off center, so I adjusted this. Added 2 screenshots as well.

Update: 11/26/12. The "General" tab/window should be the main window, but it defaults to "Other" each time I log in (this has been occurring for a while now). I previously submitted a bug report about having a "default" window, and CS admitted this is a bug, but I suspect it is low priority for them. I went ahead and submitted another bug report to them today to see if they will escalate.

For my UI, I swapped the "General" chat window and the "Other" chat window so "Other" is on the left and "General" is on the right. As others have mentioned, the "Other" chat window becomes the default when you log in or load screens, so you have to set focus to the "General" window each time. This is a pain for many (myself included), so I decided to switch their positions. This means that you'll need to adjust which chat channels you want in each window/tab so they are opposite of what they are now.

Update: 11/27/12. Another user mentioned the Ops frames kept resetting, so I ran a few WZs to check it out. Sure enough, it gets pushed up after you load/zone. I don't know why this is happening, but I will /bug it in game. I don't do a lot of WZs or Ops, so I didn't notice this right away. I did make the Ops frames wider and shorter instead of tall and skinny so it's easier to click for healers and generally closer to the rest of the UI. I also moved the HuttBall score panel so it doesn't interfere with your mission tracker.

Update: 4/21/13. Adjusted the caster bars slightly up. If you have 2 rows of buffs, they were overlapping, and you can see a weird graphical bug during casting. Now that 2.0 is out with Achievements, I also moved the Achievements frame to the top left next to the map. Inverted it so that it's actionable component is at the top instead of the bottom.

Ciao,

Gio-Cefalu

Change Log:
--------------------
2013.04.17:

added different presets to the package: normal, additional quickbars, normal with target of target, additional quickbars with target of target

2013.04.16:

party frame and castbar refit
raid/op frame refit
focus target and castbar refit
minimap refit

2013.04.15:

first version of the user interface

Description:
--------------------
Prime-X
(or Prime-HEX) is a general purpose UI which aims to leave most of the screen clean to enjoy the game, but at the same time provides sufficient amount of quickbar slots for playing any class or do flashpoints/operations/raids/pvp. The user interface is inspired by the Razer Naga HEX gaming/mmo mouse.

Main features:

Works with most of the resolution, 16:9, 16:10, 4:3 and 5:4 as well (even with eyefinity/surround).
The whole interface was designed using xml-editor/notepad++, thus positionings are accurate.
All the elements are positioned, so if you miss any, just enable it in the interface editor.
4 presets are provided: normal, additional quickbars, normal with target of target, additional quickbars with target of target.

Why have I made this?
I've tryed many user interface because i was unsatisfied with the default provided interfaces and after trying out several I could find on the internet I realized most of them were created with the SWTOR's internal user interface editor, thus positionings weren't accurate and they were only working in the resolution which in they were designed, so if my resolution was different, they usually looked awkward, fallen apart. Since I got the time and I'm familiar with the XML concept I decided that I will make my own user interface which not only looks good on my resolution, but also could be used by others.

Feedback!
Please if you use this user interface and you like it or have any request or problems with it leave a feedback/comment, so I can see what the most people would like to see/have, thus I can adjust this interface or create a new project to satisfy the different needs.

Thank You for using Prime-(HE)X,
Greets: Stormrage

This is the latest iteration of a pvp focused gui for swtor. There is a noted emphasis on the mini-map in addition to the operations frame.
The alphas of some of the quick bars have been adjusted although they will appear in field of view.
Target of target is a feature with added cast bar of focus.
Best if used with mini-map pulled out to max and camera angle drawn out over
66%. Also recommended is the cool down timer for spells.

3.1.1
Enlarged Hypergate score board, various alpha adjustments.
3.2.1
Moved menu bar to right to increase field of view, various alpha adjustments
3.2.2
Adjusted Legacy tab

I use windowed mode as I'm alt-tabbing quite a bit.

catch it in use,

www.twitch.tv/keensaucery

Hello.

After a few days of using my personal UI I decided to share it with others to ease up their lives.
It is a clean and easy for the eye with four quick bars, two on each side, the minimap in the middle and a large personal, group, target and target of target portrait, oh and the companion too!

Space combat has also been slightly altered.

I hope you all enjoy and feel free to alter it and upload newer or better versions here.

Instructions how to install:

On Windows XP:

-Click on Start
-Click Run...
-Write %appdata% and press ENTER
-Right now you are in the Roaming folder and you must go back once to access the Local folder. Do so by pressing BACKSPACE.
-Navigate to SWTOR\swtor\settings\GUIprofiles
-Copy the PrototypeX.XML here
-Launch the game
-Once logged in on your character, press ESC go to Interface Editor and load the PrototypeX UI.

On Windows Vista/7:

-Click on Start
-Click on "Search programs and files" (it looks like a textbox)
-Write %appdata% and press ENTER
-Right now you are in the Roaming folder and you must go back once to access the Local folder. Do so by pressing BACKSPACE.
-Navigate to SWTOR\swtor\settings\GUIprofiles
-Copy the PrototypeX.XML here
-Launch the game
-Once logged in on your character, press ESC go to Interface Editor and load the PrototypeX UI.

*Version 1.1 released: Moved around a few things, castbars, subtitles bar, made some portraits bigger.

Immersive (1.3)

I love SWTOR, but I often found myself looking more at my map and mission queue than the environment, simply running from one objective to the next.

To create a more "immersive" game play experience, I created this interface. Almost all of the UI has been stripped away, forcing the player to really pay attention to their surroundings.

Notes:
You will likely need to change/set-up key bindings for menu options (character sheet, skill tree, etc).
For maximum effect, you can also disable nameplates on enemy and player characters.
Optimized for 1440x900 displays

Version 1.2
Hidden elements moved to better positions

Version 1.3
Modified operations and group player frames to fit theme. Best used with "Use Operation Frames for groups" enabled.

elperzon ui (3.0)

Version 3.0

I revamped the whole thing. The only differences between the 3 setups is the size of the ops frame. The setup leaves the upper portion of the screen free from any ui elements.

Version 2.0

There are 2 different setups for both dps and healer. There are operation modes (better screen view and less chat view) and non operation modes (used while leveling or casually grouped and more chat view). The main difference between dps and healer is raid frame size and location of target castbar. Healer's target castbar is directly beneath player castbar to better view the buffs/debuffs. The exposed setup is to be able to see all quickbar icons. This setup looks best with atleast 5 quickbars.

I only use 9 of the 12 skill spots for quickbars 3 and 4 to perfectly match the number keypad.

Version 1.0

There are 3 different versions. One specific for healing, one for dps, and one for easier spec swapping.

The difference between the healer and dps version is the size of the raid frame. The spec swap utilizes quickbars 5 and 6 to hold your 'offspec' skills. This makes swapping specs as easy as dragging and dropping your offspec skills to your main skill bar.

n52te macro and profile files. (v1.1)

Change Log:
--------------------
v1.1 added profile for no macros.

Description:
--------------------
These are the profile and macro files for my n52te editor. Theres a readme in the zip with the location they go. If you have a different version of the n52 you might not be able to use those files. I included images of how mine is set up and an image of the macros I use. If you don't use rapid fire macros in MMO's give mine a try, lowers your chance of carpel tunnel, honestly my wrists and fingers felt so much better after switching to them.

With v1.1 I've included a profile titled "SWTOR no macro" which you can install just like the other but it has just regular key presses bound for no rapid fire macros.

If the files I attached don't work for other n52 models if you would be kind enough to send me profile files with the setup for those models and I can post them for others.

Layout for Belkin or Razer n52/n52te Nostromo Speed Pad (v1.1)

Change Log:
--------------------
v1.1 removed . from file name and adjusted the map and main quickbar upwards because I realized in the file I uploaded they were too low and it obscured the exit area button and the names of the areas.

Description:
--------------------
Not sure how many people out there actually use the n52 like I do but this in my opinion the best layout for someone that does use one, its set up visually just like the n52, with the 8 keys not used for movement arranged in a U with the 3x4 quickbars. It could also be easily tweaked for the Razer Naga with 4x3 bars. It's a healing layout with unplaced group panels and a single operation group showing for flashpoint healing. I'll upload a file with more operation panels if people want it but it's easily adjustable on your own.

The map is centered and the player and target panels are enlarged for easier resource, buff, and debuff viewing. Operation frames are placed above player panel, I'll upload a picture of using it in a flashpoint soon.

The middle 2, 3, 6, and 7 keys are not bound to the n52 keys just because there weren't enough buttons, I bound them to the 4 buttons on my mouse which worked out wonderfully, but would have to be bound differently for each mouse configuration if you have extra buttons at all. If not you could bind things like the n52's mouse wheel or the d-pad button i use for the map or voice chat, to those 4 keys if you want them bound.

I did do a lot of key binding changes and included screencap images of all notable key binding changes with the upload. In Other Files I've included the n52te editor macro and profile files and images of the editor so you can just throw those in for my rapid fire macros and the way I have my n52 set up with the keybindings I included images of. Mostly I used strange targeting keys and the left and right d-pad buttons for shift and control modifiers which each get their own quickbar.

9, 6, 3, and . on the numpad all toggle different useful markers on your current target. 0 on the numpad toggles focus target, 1 on the numpad tells your companion to attack, and 2 on the numpad is bound to companion slot 4 which for me tells Khem Val to taunt the target.

Hope someone else finds this useful, contact...

The download includes the 16-man operations layout I use most of the time.

I've also included a screenshot of the solo layout which just brings the portraits closer together, moves the ToT frame between them and puts the companion frame above my portrait.

Toten UI (1.5)

*Toten UI has been updated to 1.5!!!*
- Totenhelfen - <Apotheosis> - The Shadowlands

Toten UI was primarily constructed for the Trooper class. However, this is also an excellent UI for all classes. Toten UI was designed to have more visual clarity on the upper 3/4 of the screen, while centralizing the bars and portraits for ease of access.

Features Include:

V 1.5

Actionbars have been added and resized.
Target portraits have been moved and reduced in size.

V 1.3

Map moved to upper right corner.
Action bars have had size decreased and centralized.
Menu bar moved below center action bars and above xp bars.
Companion Portrait has been decreased in size. Remains in lower left corner.
Companion Bar has been decreased in size and moved vertically above companion portrait.
Mission Tracker is located below map and is reduced in size.
Character and Target Portraits have been reduced in size.
Target's Target Portrait has been reduced in size and above Target Portrait to the right.
Focus Target portrait has been reduced in size, and is located directly above Target portrait.
All cast bars are located below each portrait.

The Raid/Party Frames were left untouched. I personally feel that it is up for the user to customize their own way of viewing the frames. After all, we all have different preferences.

1080p Quickbar Box (0.02)

I took the stock UI and basically put all the quickbars in the bottom middle for consistency and uniformity. Here's what you need to know about my UI:

All four quickbars bottom-center
Operations frames mid-left
Focus Target/ToT mid-right next to target frame
Cast bars above three rows of buffs/debuffs, closer to center
All available information text is enabled
Pretty much everything else is stock SWTOR UI
Made using a 1920x1080 resolution; global scale is about 0.8

Basically, if you want all your abilities in one place and still be able to easily analyze all useful information, I would recommend this. I have used this interface for about six months. I have DPSed, healed, and tanked all content using this interface since patch 1.2 until about very recently and can highlight some pros/cons:

Pros

Easy to transition from stock interface
Analyze all abilities and its cooldowns in a centralized location
Interpret all information text easily without deviating much from stock UI
Can be used for all roles; Using this UI on all characters equates to ultimate consistency and uniformity, which was my original intention

Cons

Workspace heavy; Having four rows of quickbars stacked together reduces the overall visibility of gameplay
Healer inefficient; Healers usually pay close attention to the operations frames and would prefer having it closer towards the center where the action is, having to look left to check health/debuffs can be detrimental to situational awareness

I don't have any more pictures of this UI at the moment because my PC just blew up today so look at this video of me using it instead: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yx67Pi5Pbh4

---

Version Notes:
0.01a - Initial release
0.02 - Changed global scale to 0.8, operations frame is now on the mid-left as intended
